Kingslakes Lakes & Fishing
This large lake is positioned close to the campsite at Kingslakes and is one of two mixed species lakes. We have reduced carp numbers and introduced a selection of bream, chub, roach and rudd. Whilst some experienced anglers may feel it is overstocked with carp it is an excellent experience for our younger guests and novices.
This mixed lake lies a short distance from the cottages at Kingslakes, with woodland around two sides affording a sheltered environment for fishing with an idyllic view. This lake has an island and houses an excellent variety of silver fish and carp, with some beautiful specimen carp up to 24lbs in weight.
Jenny Wren Lake
Jenny Wren is what we used to call Tench Lake, positioned just in front of the single storey lodges and is easily accessible with mown grass paths around the edge. The lake extends to around three quarters of an acre with varying depths and has an island towards one end. The lake contains good numbers of Crucian carp and some good sized tench, up to 8lbs in weight.
Nuthatch, which has been previously used as a mixed species lake, is over 1 acre in size, with varying depths. The lake is sheltered and surrounded by woodland and many water plants can be found around the edges, which provide an attractive environment for both fish and fisherman. This lake is now our specimen carp lake with 140 carp, ranging in size from 8lbs to 20lbs.
