After officially opening in March of this year, our new ornamental lake is now the ‘go to’ lake here at Kingslakes. If you ever fancy a day catching something different than the normal silver fish and carp.

With an array of colourful koi carp, ghost carp, goldfish, golden tench, Ide, golden orfe and blue orfe it is certainly an experience not to miss out on while staying here with us.

The ide and orfe have certainly put on some weight since being stocked, with some cracking fish u to 11/2 lbs, a variety of koi range from 6oz-3lb and some bigger ghosties going up to 10lb, as well as thousands of goldfish.

With 15 well placed out pegs on the lake (including 2 accessible pegs) it is the perfect lake for larger groups of anglers, which was proven when we held our first weekly competition on it in October where 13 anglers had a cracking angling and social day.

It is definitely a lake to watch out for in 2026 to enhance your fishing experience while staying.
