The Kingslake’s fishing competitions are going down a storm with our guests this season and we are thrilled to have them running again for 2022. Our expert Andrew is organising the friendly competitions every Tuesday, and of course they are free for our guests. These residents only competitions are likely to book out early so we recommend you book your swim as early as possible to avoid any disappointment. The competitions will take place on either Nuthatch or Woodpecker, both of which are mixed species lakes.
Pegs are drawn at 9.30am for a 10am start with a 3pm weigh-in to decide the winner. We’ll supply the keep nets so that’s one bit of kit you don’t need to worry about. Minimum four participants with a maximum of 12 guests taking part.
Talk to us on site or give us a call on 01409 231401 or email us to book your place in advance of your stay in Devon.
The first competition was held on 12th April on Nuthatch Lake and the winner’s prize and medal went to Tim Hadland with a silvers weigh-in of 6lb 10oz. Congratulations to Tim.

Another great competition was held on Woodpecker Lake on 19th April with six anglers taking part. With heavy rain overnight, and bright conditions putting the fish on edge, all anglers did their best to catch the fish that were feeding. The best fish was a beautiful 1lb 8oz roach by the eventual winner Janine Hall. Well done Janine.
The last competition of April was a fantastic match on Jenny Wren with a winning catch of a huge 30lb 4oz, congratulations to Jarrod Booth. With some beautiful tench and crucians caught the best tench weighed in at 5lb 14oz. Great fun and banter was had by all those who entered and the Kingslake’s team are already looking forward to the next one. Full results below.
