If you have visited us before you will already know Kingslakes is a peaceful part of North Devon and a perfect place for a break away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. You will also know it is a photographer’s dream with so much beautiful countryside and interesting wildlife on the doorstep.
We love to see the photos you’ve taken whilst on holiday with us, and we would love to see even more this year. During 2022 we are running a photo competition and look forward to seeing your entries. The photo can be of anything, a view from your lakeside lodge, a family of rabbits playing in the fields or an impressive fish from a visit to the lakes. Whatever you decide to capture is fine by us, just as long as it’s taken whilst you are on holiday with us here at Kingslakes.
The winning shots will be chosen by the team at Kingslakes at the end of the season with a £200 voucher for the 1st prize. A £75 voucher is the prize for second place and the third placed entry will win Sunday lunch for two in the Lake View Restaurant.
Now how about some ideas for the winning shot. The rolling grass fields, woodlands and lakeside hedgerows are teaming with wildlife, with everything from the smallest insects to wild deer making an appearance ready for a close-up. The native birds can be a real treat, especially when they visit the many bird feeders we have around the site and you could get some stunning photographs of our feathered friends, especially if a rare Great Spotted Woodpecker or a majestic buzzard passes by.
The changing seasons provide an ever-changing landscape of views and colours, with beautiful sun sets that are the perfect ingredient for some stunning shots. Dew covered cobwebs, sunshine on Kitchen Lake, or a tasty looking pie in the restaurant, any great shot will be in with a chance. And naturally our anglers love to take photos of their favourite catches, so your friend holding a large carp is always good to see.
HOW TO ENTER.
If you are submitting photos of family and friends enjoying their time with us just make sure they are happy to be published online, and we might share to one of our other social media platforms or website too. It’s simple to enter, we’ll judge any photos shared to our social media or emailed to us.
Share and tag us if you are posting photos on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, or email them to us for us to share them online, and at the end of the season we’ll pick three winning photographs.
